Course Accreditation, Validation and Prescription

Introduction

All UK Built Environment schools are likely to undergo some form of accreditation validation, prescription and audit from external bodies, representing the professions, their institution and those responsible for funding courses. Schools will need to provide substantive evidence to instill confidence that qualifications awarded meet the requirements of these bodies.

Whilst the processes of accreditation, validation, prescription and audit can appear to involve large amounts of documentation and preparation, it can also be a useful opportunity for the reflective evaluation of courses and the source of useful feedback.
