Departmental Workshops

Requesting a workshop for your department

  1. Please use the online form to specify a range of dates when you would like a departmental workshop to take place. Flexibility is important as we are not able to guarantee facilitator availability for fixed dates and times.
  2. The Centre will require the nomination of a central contact point (name, telephone number and email address) within a department through whom all information and arrangements for the workshop will be made.
  3. Please note that some workshops will have a maximum number of participants. Please see the relevant workshop description for details.
  4. The host institution will be responsible for providing the workshop venue, appropriate equipment and room layout(s), refreshment requirements and event publicity internally. CEBE will supply full information on workshop prerequisites, outlining our own and departmental responsibilities, at the time of booking.
  5. Workshop costs vary in price from being entirely free to a nominal charge being levied; any costs will be specified in the details for each advertised workshop. The workshop rate is a flat fee which is heavily subsidised by CEBE and comprise speaker's fees, travelling & subsistence expenses and associated materials production costs. Where a fee is required, payment should be made to CEBE either by cheque made payable to Cardiff University, or by invoice against an official order number.
  6. Subject to mutual agreement of a suitable date for the scheduling of a departmental workshop, a workshop confirmation form should be completed and returned to CEBE. The Centre will confirm booking arrangements on receipt of this form.
  7. Cancellation Terms: Subsequent to a booking being made, should a department wish to cancel a workshop, CEBE reserves the right to recover costs from the host institution for any pre-arranged speaker travel arrangements & associated costs incurred during the workshop organisation.
