Accelerating Change in Built Environment Education
(ACBEE) Conference 2005
Progress through partnership –
The way forward for industry, higher education and professional
bodies
A one-day national conference arranged by CEBE in collaboration
with CIC, CITB Construction Skills, Constructing Excellence and
Engineering Subject Centre.
Date: 7th June 2005
Venue: RICS, 12 Great George Street, Westminster,
London
ACBEE exists to foster collaboration and dialogue between industry,
education and professional bodies. Through stronger engagement we
would see better education and higher quality graduates, more able
to make a positive impact on their organisations.
The ACBEE case studies demonstrate that industry and education
can all gain by working together. Universities gain from better
alignment of the built environment curriculum with the world of
work so that they are able to orientate themselves to industry.
Industry can benefit from universities getting their knowledge out
into practice. At this event ACBEE will show how its aims and objectives
have been met and what we hope for the future.
The conference will provide:
- First sight of a new sector wide model for industry-education
engagement
- Promotion and launch of a report on the development of metrics
for engagement
- Consider how companies and education develop partnerships
- Identify the ways in which education can collaborate successfully
with industry
- Examine how industry can help shape course content
